Director of Operations
Mycologist & Agroecologist

With over a decade of hands-on experience in regenerative agriculture, ecological restoration, and land stewardship—from California’s Central Coast to Hawai‘i and Taiwan—Diego brings a systems-based, operations-focused approach to his work. He holds a B.S. in Agricultural Systems Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and certifications in Permaculture Design and Teaching with focus on Traditional Ecological Knowledge.

Diego’s background spans managing orchards and diversified farm systems, restoring native forest ecosystems in remote volcanic terrain, and designing and implementing edible landscapes rooted in local ecological contexts. His experience in applied mycology includes managing production facilities, developing substrate and cultivation protocols, optimizing workflow systems, and leading teams while overseeing operational budgets. This foundation informs his ability to coordinate complex field logistics, equipment use, and on-the-ground implementation.

Diego is excited to implement watershed level restoration projects, focusing on soil health, biodiversity enhancement, and the regeneration of native landscapes with Wet Meadows. His work reflects a deep commitment to stewardship, watershed resilience, and restoring reciprocal relationships between land and people.
