Brian studied watershed management & hydrology at California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo. He continued to earn a graduate degree in the soil sciences focusing on soil carbon stabilization in the southern redwood forests and their adjacent rangelands. Throughout time at school, Brian worked as a wildland firefighter with the USFS traveling the western states over four fire seasons, including time on a local hotshot crew (IHC) .
He is an associate certified field botanist and has experience managing and native revegetation efforts in coastal CA as a consulting biologist.
He has been actively participating in mountain meadow process-based restoration in the Santa Lucia range for the last four years. He assists with specialty tree care and fuels reduction projects in the Cambria and San Simeon region.
He is well traveled throughout California and has specialized expertise in coastal vadose zone hydrology.
