Brian Clark, M.S.
Founder - Field Coordinator
Central/Southern California Program Manager
Brian studied watershed management & hydrology at California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo. He continued to earn a graduate degree in the soil sciences focusing on soil carbon stabilization in the southern redwood forests and their associated rangelands. Throughout time at school, Brian worked as federal wildland firefighter traveling the western states on hand crews including time served on a Type II hand crew, and as a member of a local hot-shot outfit.
He is an associate certified field botanist and has been actively involved in process-based restoration for the last three years. He is well traveled throughout California and has expertise in spring-fed, snow melt, and glacial watersheds from experiences in natural and developed systems.
One of Brian's favorite ways to pass time is traversing topography and exploring the vistas, geology and communities that lie within new and familiar ridgelines and streams. Over the last decade Brian has been a devotional listener to the catalogue of traditional American music and is making his way as a competent string musician. There may be no better feeling to Brian than playing an old time fiddle-tune in a sunny meadow in concert with the babbling of a stream.
